The DiOD Filter is a faithful recreation of the classic Steiner Parker Diode Filter with modern inout and output buffers. This keeps the noise to a minimum while retaining everything that made this filter a classic. The DiOD is a unique sounding and versatile filter in a small 4HP package. From soft and smooth to brutal, noisy and chaotic, the DiOD's flexibility will make it at home in any size system.

This filter will track, but not as tight as the VCOb and it will self-resonate; in fact at the upper reaches of the Resonance it's pretty hard to control.

Compact and quiet enough to chain several together for stereo filtering, adding more poles or creating a very resonant phaser.

The 2 CV inputs can be CV or Audio.

Frustrating but simple buildReview by Philip
**Please note: this is a review of the build process and construction, not the product function** They really crammed the parts into this 2HP PCB! This build is very straight-forward but cramped, and it left me with some frustrating experiences. This will take an experienced hand 30-60 min to complete.
1. The included instruction sheet looks like it was photocopied from a photocopy. The pictures are nearly invisible but thankfully the text was legible enough. Can we get a PDF?
2. The PCB doesn't include the recommended holes/clearance for jack tips beneath the Thonkiconn jacks. In fact, there are some random exposed contacts directly beneath the jacks...
3. The PCB is double-sided with some seriously tight spacing in some spots. Use a small diameter iron when soldering the pots and switch or you'll melt the plastic capacitor like I did.
4. Alignment of the switch slot left more room on the BP side than the HP side (even with pre-aligning the panel before soldering jacks/switch/pots).

In other words, mostly superficial gripes for an otherwise solid build. Looking forward to testing this module out! (Posted on 2/14/2017)
